Diabetic Foot Ulcer Debridement

A diabetic foot ulcer is an open sore or wound that occurs in some patients with diabetes and is commonly located on the bottom of the foot. Of those who develop a foot ulcer, care needs to be taken to avoid infection or other ulcer-related complications.

Our treatment of acute diabetic foot ulcers involves debridement (removal of damaged tissue) over a period of time to reduce infection, aid in healing and limb salvage. Further treatments would include oxygen therapy for faster wound recovery.
